Here are answers to some of the questions we get. Don't see the information you were looking for? Visit our contact page to send us an email.
What blueberry varieties do you grow? We grow a full season of wonderful varieties. In order of ripening, we have Reka, Hardy Blue, Blue Gold, Liberty, and Legacy berries. We're blueberry nerds, so if you want to talk characteristics, we'll be happy to chat!
Do you spray? No. We have never sprayed our blueberries with anything. We use no pesticides or herbicides on the berries at all. Our fields are organically managed, and we use only fish fertilizer that goes in through the drip irrigation, so it never touches the fruit at all.
Are you Certified Organic? No. We are a small family farm, committed to growing safe healthy food that everyone can afford. Getting certified is a complex and expensive process with loads of rules. We're small enough to have a conversation with everyone that comes to the farm to explain our practices and why we make the choices that we do.
Should I bring my own container? Sure! But if you forget, we have picking containers for you to borrow, and we also sell boxes (at cost) for you to take them home in. No glass please.
How about bringing my pets? Oh, we love animals, but to keep our fields as clean, tidy, and safe as possible, we don't allow pets in the field.
Can we hang out? Sure! Bring a picnic! We have tables, umbrellas and tents for shade.
We have a special needs/sensory/limited mobility family member. Can you accommodate us? Absolutely. Our fields are very close to the parking lot, so no long hauls out to pick. We can turn off squawk boxes to make it quieter for our sensory friends, or let you into a field with less activity. We have a golf cart to help you get closer to the fruit, if needed. Please give us a call and let us know how we can help.
What's that sound? We use "squawk boxes" to deter birds from eating our fruit. It's a localized recording of birds of prey and birds in distress. It keeps fruit eating birds out of the fields in a gentle, albeit mildly annoying way. If they are too loud for you, please let us know. We can temporarily turn them down or off for you.
Do you take credit cards? Yes! We take cash and credit cards on the stand.
Do you do wholesale? Sure! We love to collaborate with other small businesses to bring them the best in local, natural food. Shoot us an email, and let's talk!
What else do you grow? Blueberries are our main focus, but we also grow some raspberries, grapes, and asian pears. We have these things on the stand when we have them to spare and they're in season. Stop by or give a call for what's in store for this week.
